Happened to see this film once as a student and just the first ten minutes scared the hell out of me. Seen it since on TV and its still flaming scary every time I see it. This film probably has to rate as one of the scariest films I have ever seen, probably only The Omen beats it in my eyes. There are loads of good moments in this film. The first ten minutes like I say are really scary just if for the great contrast of the ideallic location and the monsters rage. Also the bit with the car where the kid gets nicked is really well done. And the fleeting view of the monster on the cliff is well done as well. And the attack on the campsite where you think oh yeah the monster will just disappear once the alarm is given - not a chance!!! So well done, so unlike any other horror film out there, so shocking, so surprising. I love it. Just dont watch it on your own late at night, I kid you not.
Rawhead Rex
George Pavlou directs this horror adapted from the novel by Clive Barker. After finding an ancient stone column in a field, an unwitting farmer releases the merciless demon Rawhead Rex which had been trapped there for thousands of years. With the demon now roaming the Irish countryside destroying anything in its path, it's left to American historian Howard Hallenbeck (David Dukes) to end the monster's rampage and return it to Hell. The cast also includes Kelly Piper, Niall Toibin and Ronan Wilmot.
