In this erotic, action-packed, orgiastic movie, initially set at the Mexican/American border, a psychotic duo, Perdito Durango (Rosie Perez) and her partner, Romeo (Javiar Bardem) kidnap a teenage couple. The sexy, satanic Perdito rapes the young man and then forces him to watch as Romeo rapes the pretty, young woman. Perdito and Romeo decide to sacrifice the young woman to the gods in a pagan ceremony which Romeo has performed previously. Before they can do so, the ceremony is violently interrupted. Perdito and Romeo are forced to flee, taking the young couple, still kidnapped, with them. As the four head toward Las Vegas, they are pursued by DEA agent Dumas (James Gandolfini.)
Orgiastic film by Alex de la Iglesia (Balada triste de trompeta) about two mobsters in Mexico that kidnap children , rob banks , arrange blood sacrifice (though the entire movie , despite attempts to make it all , do not really work) . Places across quite monumental phrases . But to me, the film lacked dynamics. Nevertheless , a picture is worth a look if only because of the specific and brilliantly reproduced the atmosphere of this movie – I was even difficult to determine how to name this species : western criminal or something. Adjusted action heroes , the most orchestrated to capture opinion in granite, and great black humor – the main advantages . Well Javier Bardem , to boot.
The bottom line : stylized and successful film .
